Sacred Heart College Matric Original Plays Festival (MOPFest) 2022
Matric Original Plays Festival (MOPFest) 2022: Where Creativity Meets Performance.Every year, the Matric Original Plays Festival (MOPFest) is thrilling, dynamic and stimulating and the 2022 event was no exception. These plays brought unbelievable performances from outstanding casts that will forever be engraved on our memories. We shared heartfelt laughs and cried with amusement at the art of stories told, as our minds were challenged. As a team,
we constantly reminisce about the results of our hard work.

Through this project, students from Grades 10, 11, and 12 worked together to create three unique and stylistically different plays that allowed the students to express themselves. Being the director of MOPFest fostered growth for my team and me. Despite the challenges, we grew closer to each other, developed stronger relationships, and leant on one another for support. In the wake of the lockdown, when people felt hopeless, we must be given a medium to
express ourselves as young people.

I was satisfied to see the final product on stage, which reinforced these feelings of pride. – Ntando Radebe (Co-director of Untold) My MOPFest experience was one that I don’t think I could ever forget. My co-director and I were
able to connect with and push our cast to new limits with this deeply personal and poetic piece. The hard work certainly paid off, resulting in a style-bending, thought-provoking piece despite being draining and challenging at times. (Ashante Govender, Co-director of Afterthought).
