De La Salle Holy Cross College Grade 4 Art inspired by Gustav Klimt
“The Grade 4’s of De La Salle Holy Cross College are exploring texture and pattern this term. The inspiration behind their paintings was Gustav Klimt’s portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. The original painting was made of oil paint and silver and gold leaves. Sally Brown, the art teacher, wanted the Grade 4s to also experiment with different textures, but only using one colour. “It’s a rainbow of Gustav Klimt, an Austrian symbolist painter. The Grade 4s had to explore texture and pattern in one colour in his style. The artwork is inspired by Gustav Klimt’s famous portrait of Adele Bloch – Bauer.” – Sally Brown (Art Teacher).”
