Camps Bay High School Grade 11 learner, Daniella Segall has been selected for the SA Women’s U17 Soccer Team to play in the World Cup Qualifying match against Ethiopia.

Grade 11 learner, Daniella Segall has been in Johannesburg this week for the South African U17 National Women’s Team Training Camp.  

Said Camps Bay High School’s Head of Sport, Ms Busi Ngcwama, “A group of 25 players were cut down yesterday to 20 and we are very proud to announce that Daniella has made the final squad to play the FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Ethiopia tomorrow, Friday 15 April 2022 at 14:30 at Wits Stadium.”

The SA U17 Women’s Team (Bantwana) progressed to the third round of qualifiers without kicking a ball after Kenya, whom they were due to face, was suspended from football activities by FIFA in March 2022. They will face tough competition against Ethiopia who have already eliminated Uganda to reach the third round stage.The Bantwana vs Ethiopia match will be live on SABC Sport and Channel 124 on Open View.
