Cannons Creek Grade 11 learners attend Leadership Camp
Cannons Creek High School recently returned from its annual Leadership Camp at Wortelgat Campsite near Stanford. “Many schools send prospective prefects or student leaders on a camp to evaluate their leadership skills or train them after they have been elected to this office. Cannons Creek differs in that we believe every matric will be a leader of the school by virtue of their position as the seniors of the school.
Every one of them will set an example that someone will follow, whether good or bad and together they will set the tone for the student body for the year ahead,” – Mr Hein Joubert, Senior Phase Head. As such, all 36 Grade 11 pupils attended the Camp, to prepare them for leadership, whether they have an elected office or not; where they engaged in experiential-learning exercises, team-building activities, and leadership-themed discussions. Seen here are some of the Cannons Creek Grade 11 pupils excited to embark upon their kayaking activity.
