Thursday, 5 August marked the first day of the Eskom Regional Science Expo, hosted at Paul Roos Gymnasium. It was the first time since the pandemic that this event was hosted live, with 28 schools participating in 192 science projects. Paul Roos Gymnasium had 17 participating learners and submitted 15 projects in total. PRG’s young scientists achieved great accomplishments at the Eskom Science Expo. They won 5 Gold, 7 Silver and 2 Bronze medals, which was announced on Friday, 5 August. Four Paul Roos learners were category winners. They are:

• Marne Potgieter – Best junior in category Chemistry and Biochemistry
• Altus Scholtz – Best junior in category Earth Sciences
• Ian Smith – Best junior in category Energy
• Enzo Blignaut – Best junior in category Environmental Sciences
