Al Falaah Shines at AMS Soccer Tournament
On Saturday, 28 May, the Association of Muslim Schools (AMS) hosted 16 schools with a compliment of 70 teams in total. The event was a Astro Soccer Tournament. This was held at 4 venues: Al Falaah College, Orient Islamic, Hartley Road Primary and Charles Hugo.
The atmosphere was electric with an amazing display of skills from the Under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 divisions.
Al Falaah College, conquered the day by securing 4 out of the 6 trophies. Also scoring the most important one of all by boat aiming the Under 9 and 11 Akhlaaq (Good Character) Award. And scoring Player of the Tournaments for the U11, U15 and U19 divisions as well.
The Al Falaah U11 coach, Yusuf Hoosain, was taken aback by the teams performances, “I’m so happy for the boys! They are indeed talented and a wonderful group of athletes who work hard, I’m so pleased for them.”
An Al Falaah parent who was overcome with joy went on to say “The win was a bonus to me as a parent. The true win was the Sportsmanship and Aklaaq (Character) award. The Al Falaah boys from smallest division to the bigger boys in all the games and overall at the AMS tournament displayed the best of both. These are the truest qualities of Sportsmanship and Respect which will be carried throughout their lives as adults.”
The tournament was fittingly concluded by one of the learners with a duaa/prayer.
