During 2018, Mrs van der Walt, the choir co-ordinated a Swartjie choir. She took them on camps and practice sessions and entered them in a few competitions.  Lockdown had its obvious impact on the choir.

2022 – learners were eager to audition.  At last, the choir could begin practicing.  They participated so well in competitions that they were also singing at die ATKV APPLOUS choir competition. Ledi Laka said that the Swartjie choir sounded very homely and were very expressive.  The sopranos were judged as singing with “the sound of angels”.  Led by Mr Theo Boshoff, who is also the pianist, the Swartjie choir was awarded a gold certificate! Well done!
